The Cheapest Way To Upgrade Your Car Strereo
7.1. My Recomendation
I personally recommend the Non Polar 100Mfd/50Wv capacitor.
Check you local Radio Shack store
 http://www.radioshack.com
or,
go to any place where they do radio installations and ask for a bass blocker.
If you really want to save money, just buy the capacitor itself from Radio Shack.
The ones they sell you at the car stereo place is simply a capacitor with a piece of wire on both end and inside a shrink tubing.
How do you think I know which ones to use?
I bought one for $15 and stripped it so I could find out what’s behind door #1.
I started making my own; I charged my customers $15 a pair. They saved money and I made a few bucks.
I have tried different sizes but I find the 100Mfd/50Wv to work the best.
Some of them filter out too much of the midrange leaving only the high 'cone like' sound. That is a waste of a good speaker.
